Things to do in Tenerife for Halloween 2026: a plan in the forest

Looking for things to do in Tenerife for Halloween or the November long weekend? This year, the forest has something different in store: adventure among the trees, Canary Islands folklore and a local tradition that existed long before pumpkins became part of the celebration.

For four days, explore the pine forest of Las Lagunetas, take on more than 80 rope bridges and zip lines on our treetop adventure courses and try to solve a mystery hidden among the trees.

Eight islands. Nine legends. One secret.

Finaos: the Canarian Halloween behind A Legendary Halloween

Halloween may now be celebrated around the world, but the Canary Islands have their own tradition connected to this time of year: Finaos.

For generations, Canarian families gathered around All Saints’ Day to remember loved ones who had passed away, share chestnuts, walnuts, figs and other seasonal food, and tell stories. Children went from house to house carrying a small bag, or talega, a custom that inspired this year’s game. You can learn more about the tradition in the Canary Islands’ cultural heritage resources.

At Forestal Park Tenerife, we bring both worlds together: Halloween is celebrated. Finaos are remembered. At Forestal Park, we do both.

How to play La Talega de los Finaos

Your visit will still be the Forestal Park adventure you know, with an extra mission. When you arrive, each group receives La Talega de los Finaos and some instructions, inside a small waterproof bag with a mini pencil.

La Talega de los Finaos cards from Forestal Park Tenerife, in Spanish and English, placed on pine needles and moss-covered rocks in the forest. The cards are part of the A Legendary Halloween game, in which participants must find symbols and uncover a secret.

Each group receives its Talega with the game instructions. Image retouched with AI.

1. Spot the nine symbols on the courses

Hidden along the courses are nine symbols from nine Canary Islands legends, and each one holds a letter. Just keep your eyes open as you go: there is no need to stop, use your phone or take the card out at height. Once you are back on the ground, write the letter next to its symbol.

2. Find the numbers in the Cemetery of Canary Legends

Somewhere in the park, the Cemetery of Canary Legends is waiting: nine tombstones, nine stories. The Witches of El Bailadero in Anaga, the Guardian of Ansosa, the Violet of the Summits, Ferinto, Princess Tenesoya, the Curse of Laurinaga, Queen Ico, the Hidden Treasures of La Graciosa and the mysterious island of San Borondón are all there.

Each tombstone has the same drawing as one of the symbols on the courses and gives you the number you need to put each letter in its place. The forest gives you the letter; the Cemetery gives you the order.

3. Solve the secret and find the Guardian of the Legends

Put all nine letters in order and you will reveal the secret question of the Finaos. Then find the Guardian of the Legends at reception… and whisper it: someone may still be looking for it. What is it? You will have to come and find out.

A family-friendly Halloween in Tenerife, with safety first

A Legendary Halloween is not a horror attraction. There are no jump scares and no characters chasing visitors on the courses: just a mysterious, playful experience for children and adults, with the adventure at the heart of the visit.

Safety always comes first. The symbols are spotted while moving through the courses, without stopping or using a phone at height, and the courses use our HOOKT continuous safety line. Before your visit, check the age, height and clothing requirements: we don’t recommend coming in costume, as the usual clothing and equipment rules apply on the courses.

The Halloween experience is included with regular admission, with no extra ticket. See our current prices in our online booking calendar.

The Finaos Corner

At reception, the Finaos Corner awaits: chestnuts, an old talega, lanterns and old photographs, just like a Canarian home of times past at this time of year. A small tribute to our tradition, for everyone to enjoy before and after the adventure.

Take a photo at the Cemetery of Legends and share it on Instagram with #LeyendasForestal and tag @forestalpark_tf: some of our favourites will appear in our Stories.

Halloween in Tenerife has another story

This year, we don’t simply want to bring Halloween into the forest. We want it to help us tell our own stories: that before pumpkins, the Canary Islands already had the Finaos; that every island has legends worth sharing; and that a misty pine forest may be the perfect place for them to awaken again.

From 30 October to 2 November, come to Forestal Park Tenerife and keep your eyes open. The legends have awakened.

Eight islands. Nine legends. One secret. Can you solve it?
